The Dutch Harp Competition is the revolutionary harp competition hosted
in The Netherlands. Open to harpists of all nationalities and ages, the
Dutch Harp Competition emphasizes musical quality and artisticity over
harp technique. The compulsory repertoire includes works by Bach,
Flothuis, Debussy and Rodrigo. All stages are accessible to the public,
several will also be broadcasted online.

1st Ksenia Erdely International Harp Competition

This
International harp competition in St Petersburg is named after the
founder of the Russian modern harp school, Ksenia A. Erdely, People's
Artist of the
USSR.
The
young Ksenia’s musical studies took place in St Petersburg, at the
Smolny Institute for Noble Maidens (1889-1895). As early as two years
after graduation, she started teaching at the Institute. Thereafter, for
almost seventy-five years, she worked as a teacher in Russia’s most
prestigious educational institutions, including the Smolny Institute,
The Gnesins' Academy of Music, the St Petersburg Conservatory and the
Moscow Conservatory.

The composition contest of the USA international harp competition takes place prior to the triennial performance competition. The contest was established as a part of its mission "to encourage composers to write new works for the harp and to promote the harp and harp music". Composers are invited to submit new works for solo harp.
